The so-called "Javelin" glitch that has been plaguing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer matches is about to meet its match. Earlier on Thursday, Robert Bowling, creative strategist for the game at developer Infinity Ward, posted to his Twitter feed that the patch to fix the exploit (and, reportedly, a few other MW2 glitches) had passed Microsoft's certification process, saying that Microsoft only needed to "push it live."
Apparently, that "push" will be just hours away at this writing. Larry HrybXbox Live's director of programming, but more likely better known as Microsoft's "Major Nelson"posted to his Twitter feed that the title update containing the fixes "will go live early Friday morning." Though Microsoft doesn't usually pin down the time that these kinds of data will be publicly available, history has shown that they often become downloadable to players via Xbox Live at around 2am Pacific Time.
Regardless of the exact time the patch goes up, there's a likelihood that, at this time on Friday, MW2 /Xbox 360 enthusiasts will be able to join Bowling in saying, "Goodbye Javelin glitchers!"
