XMen Arcade Now Available

Konami and Marvel Entertainment announced today that X-Men Arcade is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Developed by Backbone Entertainment, this first ever home version of the popular 1992 cabinet arcade classic allows players to join their favorite X-Men characters in what is widely considered their first great video game appearance.

X-Men Arcade brings the fun and excitement of the hit arcade game to Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, as players can engage in multiplayer action both locally and online. Up to six players are supported locally on the PlayStation Network version and up to four on Xbox LIVE Arcade, while online drop-in multiplayer allows anyone to join the battle with a total of as many as six players on either system at any time. The game also integrates high-definition heads-up displays, menus and local/online leaderboards to track statistics and scores. Meanwhile, the additionally included Japanese version of the game features power-ups and energy drops not seen in the harder American version, as well as Japanese subtitles at the lower half of the game screen.

Custom Match Mode allows players to set the number of players, as well as difficulty and the beginning level. Meanwhile, Create Match Mode establishes the player as host and adds the ability for complete veto power over the match.

X-Men Arcade is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 MSPTS and on the PlayStation Network for $9.99. To download new screen shots and for more information on the game, please visit: http://www.konami.com/games/xmen.

Quake Arena Arcade Drops into the Marketplace

Deathmatch is something of a staple in today's multiplayer arena. With players handed guns left and right for various virtual tasks, the idea of wiping out another team of real opponents is something most players aren't a stranger to. But this wasn't always the case.

It took trailblazing original games to make this game type such a staple and today we're getting one such game back into the marketplace to relive the glory days of simply killing one another.

Quake Arena Arcade has hit the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15). The game features over thirty classic maps as well as twelve that are exclusive to Xbox Live. Matches stack up to 16 players at a time and the download even features a brand new single player campaign.

The other two game modes outside of Deathmatch are Capture the Flag and Harvester.

Here's the marketplace link for the game if you're interested in adding it to your library.

Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime in Action

Atari, Sony and Wanako Studios are taking the Ghostbusters world and bringing it to the downloadable marketplace early next year.

As a sequel to 2009's Ghostbusters: The Video Game , this new title, called Sanctum of Slime shakes up a lot of elements of its predecessor. First of all you're not going to find any familiar faces from the original game or film in it. This new adventure focuses solely on a group of rookies finding their way in this haunted world.

Next up the game shifts to a top-down viewpoint much like the recent Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light . This fast-paced game is for up to four players both locally and online and from the looks of everything so far might just be a lot of fun.

So without further ado, check out the debut trailer of Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime which is due for release in Spring 2011:
