Microsoft Confirms $199 Slim & Kinect Bundles

An internal Q & A sheet from Microsoft’s marketing department confirms an ‘arcade’ version of the newly launched Xbox 360 slim to ship this fall. According to the documents the arcade slim will be priced at the same price point as the current model - $199 USD. The documents also confirmed that Kinect will be available as both a ‘stand alone product’ and ‘in a bundle’.

The kinect bundles are listed over at Amazon and Gamestop for $299 (arcade) and $399 (250gig) respectively. If you are thinking of upgrading to the slim you might want to wait for these bundles to hit as they save you $50 off the rumored MSRP for Kinect. No information was provided regarding the storage available for the $199 configuration. If it follows the current model then it will be packaged with 512MB of flash memory.

We will have more information on these new Xbox 360 bundles as they become available.

Update: Updated the article to reflect the fact that the $150 pricepoint for Kinect is an unconfirmed rumor at this time. The $150 price has been listed on major retailers such as GameStop and Amazon.com but has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.
