Crysis 2 Multiplayer Beta Begins On Xbox 360

Crytek and EA’s upcoming futuristic first person shooter Crysis 2 has entered a closed invite only beta exclusively on the Xbox 360 this week. The beta is reportedly an early test of Crysis 2’s multiplayer component and it may expand to other platforms as EA/Crytek collect more data. Invitations for the closed beta were sent to Crysis fans who signed up at the exclusive website back in June.

Crysis 2 takes place in a ruined New York City which is under alien attack in the year 2023. The player will be able to customize their armor’s power and weapon’s attachments similar to the original PC title. The player character is a former Green Barrett who steals the nanosuit to take up arms against the alien invaders.

The full version of Crysis 2 will be available for multiple platforms including Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3 on March 22nd, 2011.
