Championship Gaming Series’ North American Regular Season continued last night. Here are the results.

New York 3D 24, Carolina Core 17

New York 3D and Carolina Core clashed last night in a battle for first place in the Championship Gaming Series’ North American Regular Season at the EA Los Angeles campus. Both teams boasted 2-0 records and both were hungry for the sole position atop the standings. Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) continued to be a significant contributor to overall team point totals. New York's CS:S squad has made up for poor leadership with the addition of Jon "juan" Mumm, picked up by GM Dave “Moto” Geffon at the 2008 combine and draft in Austin this past March. Mumm once again proved his worth by devising strategies that devastated Core's defense, navigating 3D to a 15-3 win in CS:S. New York's Dead or Alive 4 (DOA4) combo of Cardell "Dave Cheppelle" Thomas and Tanya "Coolsvilla" Underwood added to the team's score with two fine performances, giving New York a confident 24-17 match victory over Carolina Core. New York 3D now own sole possession of first place with a 3-0 record.

Dallas Venom 24, Chicago Chimera 18

Winless Dallas Venom faced off against the world champion Chicago Chimera in the night’s second match. An extremely motivated Dallas Venom CS:S squad routed Chimera 13-5 to set the pace for the match. Dallas' DOA4 stars, Manny "Master" Rodriquez and Michelle "Phoenix" Pleet followed suit with 5-1 and 5-4 wins respectively. Despite a convincing 1st and 2nd place finish by Chimera's famed Forza Motorsport 2 drivers, Jason "JaSoN-X" Exelby and Wesley "Ch0mpr" Cwiklo, Dallas Venom saw their first win in the 2008 season, defeating the defending world champs 24-18.
