Mad Catz To Produce New Wireless Headset

Microsoft and Mad Catz have announced that Mad Catz will become the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of a new wireless headset due during the holiday 2011 shopping season. The new headset is said to feature 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound and of course Xbox Live communication for voice messages and in game chat.

The previous generation of Microsoft branded wireless headsets were released with the Xbox 360 console in November of 2005. Those headsets use the same wireless technology as those used in the wireless controllers. Several special editions of the original wireless headsets were released including one to commemorate the launch of Halo 3.

We should see this new headset revealed as the holiday season approaches. Mad Catz is currently working on a wired version of the Triton Gaming Headsets as well. Do you use a wireless headset or the wired one that came with the console? Let us know in the comments.
